This scarf design is inspired by endangered Lemurs of Madagascar, including the Coquerel's Sifaka Lemur (CR), Black and White Ruffed Lemur (CR), and Ringtail Lemur (EN). Through this wearable artwork, the artist hopes to increase awareness and spread appreciation for these unique and beautiful species.
The artwork is digitally printed with Oeko-tex certified inks on ecofriendly Tencel, a low impact, vegan friendly fabric that is ethically made from responsibly harvested eucalyptus trees. Tencel is sustainably produced in a closed loop process that recycles more than 99% of water and non-toxic organic solvents. We also chose this fabric because it is easily biodegradable, durable, silky soft, and easy to care for.
