This scarf design is inspired by endangered animals of Sumatra, Indonesia, including the Sumatran elephant (CR), Sumatran tiger (CR), Sumatran orangutan (CR) and Sumatran rhino (CR). The animals are surrounded by the leaves and fruit of the blood banana plant, which is native to Sumatra.
The artwork is digitally printed with Oeko-tex certified inks on ecofriendly Tencel, a low impact, vegan friendly fabric that is ethically made from responsibly harvested eucalyptus trees. Tencel is sustainably produced in a closed loop process that recycles more than 99% of water and non-toxic organic solvents. We also chose this fabric because it is easily biodegradable, durable, silky soft, and easy to care for.
